Sportsman standout Todd Patterson to compete in Pro Stock down under

Todd Patterson, one of the sports leading engine builders, a decorated sportsman racing standout, and former NHRA Pro Stock and Pro Stock Truck competitor, is set to make his return to the cockpit of a Pro Stock car…on the other side of the globe and with a different flavor than the 500-inch American counterparts.

Patterson’s Kansas-based engine facility boasts several Australian customers, who have been urging the veteran sportsman star to come try his hand at racing across the pond. Patterson will campaign customer Chris Solditos’ new Pontiac GTO in the largest drag racing event conducted outside of the United States – the ANDRA Castrol EDGE Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway in Queensland, Australia June 10-13. Some 20 Pro Stock cars are expected to attempt to qualify for the field.

“To be honest I am really overjoyed that Chris is allowing me to compete with his car, the style of the Pro Stock class here really appeals to me and after watching it on TV and seeing the success the racers have been happening I just can’t wait to give it a go,” said Patterson.

The campaign has been organized by Patterson Racing Performance’s Australian agent Peter Ridgeway and John O’Kearney. Ridgeway will also compete in Pro Stock at Willowbank behind the wheel of a brand new Holden Monaro-bodied ride. Said Ridgeway “The bar has been raised over the past couple of years again and again in the Pro Stock category, so with Todd coming out we will be turning the wick up to get out there and have some fun and just see what happens.
