Turning a beater car into a creative, badass, off-road build is some of the most rewarding work in the world. Our new show Horsepower Wars Junkyard Challenge presented by K&N, was created to highlight four Southern California teams building the ultimate off-road rig in just seven days for a shot at winning $10,000 cash. We’re excited to announce that we will be releasing the first episode on December 5th, 2019!
The four final teams that were chosen to compete in the first-ever Junkyard Challenge are: NEXGEN, Rock Solid, Race Anything, and Damage Inc. These teams will face off to see who can build the best off-road machine on a limited budget. Each team was given $2,500 to buy a vehicle they will be building up. Team Damage Inc. went with a 1989 Ford F-250, Team Rock Solid Offroad chose a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500, Team RaceAnything has a 2004 GMC 2500HD, and last but not least Team NEXGEN is building a 1993 Ford F-150.
From there, teams will have $2,500 in Summit Racing credit to budget and purchase any aftermarket parts they desire, and an additional $1,000 will be provided for the teams to buy used parts. Toyo Tires will be providing tires while K&N will be providing all sorts of products, such as air filters and oil filters. Completed trucks will have to participate in four challenges: Barrel Race, Short Course Race, Tug O’War, and the Jump Contest.
Stay tuned to the Horsepower Wars Facebook page for updates on the builds, competition and episode schedule. Also, be sure to subscribe to the official Power Automedia channel on YouTube, which is where we’ll be posting the episodes. The shows will debut, however, on HorsepowerWars.com.
